Exhibit of day 3 of the Mega Display series, highlighted the essence of design. Jediiians found the similarity between the design and ocean and ventured into it to explore the layered structure of the both to bring out one of a kind and interactive show. The exhibit consisted of Fashion Design students’ work and showcased the future of the design industry.

The Day 3 of the Mega display was themed around Sea Cosmos and to visitors it truly was an experience, with the exhibit of an entire year’s work of the students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology.

The trademark of any institute is the quality education that helps the students to find a pathway in today’s world with an aim to augment their future in a way that aids them as well as the society. At JD Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore, these learnings are quotidian along with a plethora of other significant exposures that the college gives to its students. The institute’s vision is to raise a community of designers who are responsible and practice ethicality on a daily life basis.

To navigate through such a pathway, JD Institute since its inception has followed a global curriculum and promotes the diligent work of the students via channels of exhibit, participation in design shows, regular industrial visits, healthy competition and classroom training.

The practice over the years has become a deeply rooted entity in each of the Jediiians, and the most relevant example of the same is the three day long exhibit where the students pursuing their BSc in Fashion and Apparel Design showcased the product of their effort and curriculum that they go through the entire year.

The theme of the third day of the exhibit was Sea Osmos. The carefully chosen theme was chosen in order to display the similarities between marine life, space and design. We all know, the ocean has always fascinated human beings with the thousands of mysteries hidden in it. Even with the upteen number of explorations made over the years and developments that have made us reach space, our marine world is still a mystery. Moreover, the ocean hides a thousand things which are not visible to the naked eyes. It has layers which can be unveiled only through  the pragmatic thought process and this is where the design domain and ocean find a synchronization.

The simplest of design has layers that unfurl over the time. It requires skills to bring such depth through the design and our Jediiians encapsulated that essence of it to put forward an exhibit of quality.

Students pursuing Fashion and Apparel Design belonging to Section C, for the third day of their display of work went with the theme Sea-Osmos and took us through a surrealistic journey. Upon entering the display, there was a mystical aura that gave a glimpse of underwater life. On stalls, students put up their works which were beyond imaginable. The sketches were done with intricate details and color combinations. They highlighted the creative mind of our Jediiians who are the forerunner of the design domain.

In the exhibit, students also shared the garments stitched by them during the duration of their first year course. The finish, neatness and the clean structure of the garments spoke about the future fashion designer and their craftsmanship.

No exhibit is complete without visitor interaction and our Jediiians know that well. As soon as the faculty members, staff members, and students arrived at the group of aspiring Fashion Designers, they warmly welcomed them and explained their ideas and designs. The students also fulfilled the queries and why they went for such mystical themes. In order to keep the event interactive, Jediiians installed games in their display which kept the visitors engaged and enhanced their experience. The intricate additions to curate an experience center and not make it a regular exhibit was appreciated by all. Moreover, on the decorative side students in order to create the ambience of underwater life went with blue-coloured lighting with sea creatures curated out of papers and fabric was put along with some students taking the eco-friendly pathway to reuse the waste generated.

 

When it comes down to putting up an exhibit of smart and diligent work, our budding designers excel in it. They understand the wee ingredients that help them serve a savory experience for all. To the Jediiians, the displays, exhibit and multiple shows are not only about putting across the work but also a way to show their unique identity and justify the legacy of an institute that has been catering into the design industry.
