Vaastu for Interiors: Talk session at JD Institute

Interior Designers have the ability to create functional and aesthetical interiors according to the wishes of the concerned space owners. But these, beautifully crafted spaces can have a negative impact if not designed according to the principles of Vaastu. Therefore a comprehensive use of Vaastu while designing any interior space is important. To impart this knowledge, JD Institute of Fashion Technology invited Jyodhisham, a well-known astrology service in Bangalore.

Jyodhisham is one of the Vaastu consultants backed by a decade of research and twice that period of practice. It is the organization that combines Astrology, Palmistry and Numerology in its scientific approach. They are the official consultants for many large builders, industries and business houses. Mr A.P Velayudhan, the founder of Jyodhisham and Hon of Doctorate suggested our Interior Design course students some effective and functional changes in the interiors that can create an impact on the successful living of people.

Mr A. P Velayudhan stated planning interiors according to one’s tastes and styles don’t always give peace and fulfilment. These could be in relation to any changes in the interior space. The Talk session covered topics such as origins of Vaastu, misconceptions of Vaastu, scientific reasons behind Vaastu also the application of colours and weight distribution in space. He also mentioned how to design space according to the psychological impact of a person. The students also got familiar with fen Chui and pyramids and how they are completely different from Vaastu.

Understanding the principles and elements of Vaastu enlightened our Diploma in Interior Design students about the subject and its application. The session was quite informative for them that later ended with an interactive Q/A round. (Ultram)
