The interior design trends during the pandemic were mostly about creating a personal space within our own homes in hope of finding inner peace. Feng shui, wabi sabi, earth-tone colours are some new trending terms in the interior design realm.

As we live through the last vestiges of the COVID variants, our living spaces continue to double as our work rooms, which is the new normal. The living room couches continue as the conference room and the dining table, the new boardroom table. Rooms are being designed for double duty; i.e., dining rooms walls lined with books, bedrooms equipped with exercise equipment. As people spend more time in their homes, they expect the spaces to work harder for them.

3. Tech-friendly Homes

Interior Design trends continue to evolve with new advances in technology. Embracing virtual design by leveraging this powerful new technology to create immersive spaces and highly engaging designs that feel both contemporary and futuristic is going to be a trend as technology becomes an essential part of our daily lives.Interior design trend for 2022 – Tips for the trendsetters!

The mix-and-match is a cool trend that’s quickly catching on. It is not uncommon to see wood, metal and stone elements all used in the same piece, to make them more unique and special. Dark and moody mixed with stainless steel, jovial multi colour schemes and colour blocking.

6. Bold Colours and Patterns

Citrus green and RAF blue are colours as we try to design homes to mimic the great outdoors that we miss. 8. Bring the outdoors inside your home

With more time spent indoors than ever before, we’re all seeking to strengthen our connection with nature. This has simultaneously inspired a resurgence in natural surfaces—think stoneware, terracotta, marble, and travertine being used across the board from backsplashes to showers, furniture, and decorative objects. The raw, porous, imperfect nature of these organic materials adds depth, soul, and visual intrigue while also mimicking the calming, restorative ambiance of the outdoors.
