Kaizen- Change For The Better- Sync- JD Design Awards 2022- Interior Design
As the world is changing, health aspects both physical and mental have become important. In today’s time we spend a considerable amount of time inside the workspace. JD Design Awards 2022 is a humongous platform that channelises the designers’ mind and brings forth solutions by the means of design.
With the advent of COVID-19 the Work From Home culture bloomed, but as we are heading back to normal, the populace going back to the same cubicles and workspace is increasing.
In this transition period, a designated breakout area within the workspace is a must. Interior Designers Vathsalya S, Mohammed Siddique and Syed Ayaz Maliki came up with a design solution Kaizen- Change for Better. The project aimed to determine the value of a breakout space in the workplace and how it affects employees’ attitudes towards their work environment.
The project also aimed to examine and implement design concepts in a tiny space within the breakout space area, with a product designed and curated to focus on promoting the employee’s health both physically and mentally.
Taking Riverstone as inspiration, the designers worked over their project that is not just a proposal but can be achieved. Riverstone is known as the ‘bones of mother nature’ and symbolizes endurance, stability, and permanence. They represent the ability to be grounded and connected with the earth. The river stone encourages us to go with the flow, rather than resisting change or evolution. In this way, it is a grounding stone, helping to find peace in acceptance.
The unique concept and its implementation also received accolades from the JD Design Awards 2022, winning the Mentor’s Choice Award.
