Fashion Designing is really a form of art that is dedicated to the creation of clothing and other accessories that form part of someone’s lifestyle. Modern fashion designing can be further divided into two broad categories: ready to wear and haute couture. The haute couture collections are dedicated to a set of privileged customers and are custom sized so that they can fit

The Spring summer 2015 collection takes its inspiration from cherry blossom. Known as “Sakura” in Japanese, the Cherry blossom trees are common in Japan and are an integral part of native Japanese culture. The garments beautifully depict the shapes of cherry blossom flowers and structures of cherry blossom trees. The designer has painted the prints herself on different fabrics like taffeta organza and Chinese silk to create a range of contemporary pieces such as jackets, dresses, skirts, trousers.

MET Gala or MET ball is an annual event to raise funds for the benefit of Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York.  A star-studded celebration of sorts, every year the opening of the Costume Institute’s fashion exhibit is attended by actors and actresses, socialites, fashion designers, etc. The exclusivity of this event lies in the idea of thematic exhibits. The themed exhibition sets the mood for this glamorous event as the guests assemble in their ensemble complementing the theme.

They put up an artistically creative art exhibit where the theme was ‘Abstractism’. Titled, “Abstraction and conceptualization of images”- an exhibition organized by the interior design students saw some powerful forms of abstract art. Most often abstract art is misunderstood but that ironically, is the beauty of it. Exhibits of abstract art are definitely spurting and the artists are seen painting their interpretations of what they see.
